Packet Header Processor

Packet Header Processor is a patent-protected IP core for extraction of important header fields from incoming Ethernet frames. Its modular design supports multiple 802.1Q and MPLS headers, both IPv4 and IPv6 headers including extension headers, and TCP, UDP and ICMP headers. Extracted header fields can be used as input for subsequent components to implement more complex functionalities like packet filtering using data lookup IP cores. Support for the P4 forwarding language is currently being added to provide even more flexibility.

Hash-based Data Lookup IP Core

Hash-based Data Lookup IP core is a generic filter based on Cuckoo hash-based tables. Key width, the number of keys and the number of parallel tables for collision resolution are configurable parameters. Cuckoo hash-based tables have fast insertion with collision detection and constant look-up time in all cases. Due to all these features, they are suitable especially for packet filtering in high-speed computer networks.

Tree-based Data Lookup IP Core

Tree-based Data Lookup IP Core is an IP core that allows storage and manipulation of a set of key-value pairs. Given a key on input, the IP core outputs the corresponding value in constant time. It is implemented with a trie data search structure that make it possible to look up prefixes effectively and implies deterministic parameters. The IP core is suitable especially for packet filtering in high-speed computer networks.
